Swami Ek Naam Devji Maharaj

Shri Devi Chand Ji, later revered as Swami Ek Naam Dev Ji Maharaj , was born in 1946 on the auspicious day of Durga Ashtami, a day before Ram Navami, in the village of Barasalu, District Karnal, Haryana (India). From the very beginning, his life reflected profound spiritual destiny. At birth, he appeared lifeless, only to suddenly revive during a sacred havan ceremony-an extraordinary incident remembered as an early sign of his inwardly awakened soul.

From childhood, Swamiji exhibited a calm, compassionate, and deeply devotional nature. He regularly accompanied his father, Shri Atma Ram Ji, to the local temple and found immense joy in singing the divine Name of God. Known for his peaceful temperament and natural intelligence, Swamiji excelled in academics-not through excessive study, but through sincere prayer and unshakeable faith in divine grace.

A defining moment in his spiritual journey came in 1967,

when he met his revered Spiritual Master, Shri Prem Nath Ji Maharaj, in Hissar, Haryana. Blessed by his Guru's grace, Swamiji completed his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar, in 1968, and soon thereafter traveled to the United States for higher education.

Despite physical distance, the sacred Guru-disciple bond remained vibrant through spiritual correspondence. These deeply insightful exchanges later became a source of inspiration for many, demonstrating how a realized Guru continues to guide and uplift a sincere disciple beyond the limitations of time and space. During this period, Shri Prem Nath Ji Maharaj entrusted Swamiji with the divine command to independently spread RAM-NAAM as a means of awakening peace, harmony, and spiritual unity in human hearts.
