the sacred roots of your own spiritual heritage)
About
A Living Abode of Ram Naam, Prayer, and Inner Awakening
Shri Ramsharnam, Toronto is not merely a physical prayer and meditation center—it is a living sanctuary of Ram Naam, a space where the eternal vibration
of the Divine Name continues to awaken hearts and purify consciousness. Established formally in 1983, Shri Ramsharnam has, for over four
decades, carried forward the sacred resolve to propagate the glory of Ram
Naam in North America, faithfully aligning itself with the timeless teachings of
Rishivar Swami Satyanandji Maharaj.
Four Pillars of Shri Ramsharnam
Seva
As Lived and Taught by Swami Satyanand Ji Maharaj
Swami Satyanand Ji Maharaj taught that Seva is spirituality in motion—belief translated into
action. It is the spontaneous expression of love, compassion, and sensitivity toward all beings.
Without Seva, Swami Ji said, the heart remains dry; and without a softened heart, one cannot
experience the Infinite.
Bhakti, a movement emphasizing the mutual intense emotional attachment and love of a devotee
toward Ram. Swami Satyanand Ji Maharaj taught that Bhakti is the pure, heartfelt love and
complete surrender of the devotee toward Lord Ram.
Swami Satyanand Ji Maharaj taught that true spiritual accomplishment arises only when all three
Yogas—Karma, Bhakti, and Gyaan—are harmoniously practiced. A seeker who becomes a Karma-Yogi
develops the capacity to act selflessly, understand the infinite, and courageously break the
walls of ignorance and ego accumulated over countless lifetimes.
Swami Satyanand Ji Maharaj taught that Upasana or Sadhana is the highest journey of the soul,
transcending all external yogic practices. It is the inner quest to dive beyond the surface of
the mind, discovering the infinite within oneself. The more diligently one practices, the more
the seeker begins to merge with the boundless Divine.
Shri Ram Sharnam, Toronto organizes an online and onsite Satsang program every weekend.
Saturday Satsangs
We explore a chapter from Shri Bhakti Prakash. It’s not just about reading or reciting the
text
as
we traditionally do, but about deeply understanding the essence of the line by line
teachings as
explained by Swamiji Maharaj. Our sessions are interactive and collaborative, where everyone
contributes by sharing their interpretations, insights, and experiences. This collective
effort
helps us internalize the teachings and apply them meaningfully in our daily lives.
Sunday Satsangs
Swamiji Maharaj has advised all sadhaks to gather as a congregation every morning, especially on weekend mornings, to recite Amritvani, Sankirtan, and Bhajans. The collective recitation creates positive vibrations that help purify the mind, bringing peace and serenity to support each individual in their weekly chores. It is therefore important for all sadhaks to come together as a family to participate in this sacred practice.
